At Cerulean Medical Institute, we offer many different types of dermal fillers for non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Dermal fillers are a great option for anyone wanting to restore volume loss, redefine the contours of their face, or smooth away deep wrinkles and facial folds for a natural youthful appearance.
What Types of Dermal Fillers Are Available?
There are many types of dermal fillers available. Our Kelowna skin care centre uses the following Health Canada and FDA-approved fillers to give our patients exceptional results:
1. Juvéderm
Juvéderm is one of the most popular dermal fillers and its variety of products makes it a great choice for almost any area of the face. Juvéderm fillers contain hyaluronic acid, naturally found in the skin that binds to water to create support and structure for fullness and volume.
2. Belotero
Belotero is a purified hyaluronic acid filler that is not only used to add volume, but also used for facial contouring, to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles as well as acne scars. Different Belotero products have different chemistry and consistencies to effectively smooth fine lines and deeper facial folds.
3. Radiesse
Radiesse can also improve volume, facial contour and skin firmness, using calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) to do so. CaHA stimulates collagen production. Collagen is one of the main proteins in the skin, along with elastin, that gives it firmness and elasticity. As we age, collagen production decreases, leading to wrinkles and sagging skin. Radiesse is thus a great biostimulant to help slow down the aging process.
4. Teosyal
Teosyal offers several different hyaluronic acid-based fillers, each designed to treat different areas of the face. One of the benefits of Teosyal is that it is a great under eye filler leaving you with natural looking refreshed eyes.

Temples
Temple fillers are used to restore temple volume that is lost during aging, TMD associated with masseter hypertrophy, stress, illness, etc. Restoring temple volume results in a less hollow appearance, brow stability and lifting, early lifting of the facial compartments with a consequential less tired looking appearance.

The resultant effect is naturally fuller cheeks with softer under eye and smile lines giving your cheeks a fuller, more youthful appearance. Tear trough or undereye fillers are used to improve undereye hollowness and darkness resulting in a less tired looking, more youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers for the lower face help to contour the jawline and chin resulting in improved facial profiles, restoring facial balance, softer marionette and chin lines, lifting of saggy skin of the lower face and neck and improvement of cervicomental (chin-neck) angles. This results in slimmer, more youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers like Radiesse help soften horizontal neck lines by stimulating collagen resulting in a youthful, homogenous, more radiant neck profile.
